Who would've thought that Anthony Hopkins and Chris Rock would make a good team? But they do, and it's not how you would think either. I expected Hopkins to be this annoyed, uptight old man trying to handle Rock's rambunctious, goofy, hip-hop-loving character. But it isn't like that. Rock's character is very intelligent, progressively mature, but still has that street charm and attitude you'd expect. Hopkins' is a no-nonsense, tough, dangerous agent with a conscience and a good heart. They play off each other quite well. Hopkins is one of those rare actors that you just like to see on screen, whether he is playing Hannibal Lecter or John Quincy Adams. With no exception, he delivers a fantastic performance here. The movie has a decent story, a terrifying premise, especially since the whole Spetember 11 thing, and a great cast. Peter Stormare (the wood-chipper goon from Fargo) is great too as Vas, the Russian arms dealer. I wasn't expecting much, but I was pleasantly surprised. Bad Company is good company.
