I love Wall Street movies! It wasn't quite as "raw" as the original Wall Street, but get over the touchy feely scenes and it was every bit as good. Gordon Gecko is the man!

It was an okay movie. Shia sucked however but the movie could have been a little more up scale.

I loved the first one and had to see the second one. This film is more of a doomsday scenario, not just one man who is involved in some insider trading, but all the banks potentially creating an end of the world scenario for debt due to speculation. The film is interesting, but at times exaggerated and even for someone in finance, not always clear what the issue is as they use a lot of acronyms and street talk. Worth a watch, but not a classic like the first one.

As the title suggests it's more about wall street and its finances than anything else so that is expected that being said don't expect too much action from this movie.

A must see and I'm a 9 year old. I know alot about banks and this is amazing. Michael Douglas Was amazing! And Shia was epic too. He got lots of money from gordon.

It's a good movie. But I was not overly impressed. They seemed to be trying to get some messages across at the beginning, but they fail to deliver a punch line to them by the end of the movie.
| 7/10 | geoffrey.stanley@ - 23 reviews 12.12.2010 - age: 26-35 |
This movie is boring! It's nowhere near as interesting as the trailer makes it out to be. An ok film to rent if you're business major in college and wanna brush up on your wall street lingo.
| 5/10 | ca_jean3@ - 15 reviews 5.12.2010 - age: 18-25 |
Very entertaining and I enjoyed the film thoroughly. Great performances by the cast. I recommend it to others who haven't seen it yet.

Oliver Stone can really make a movie. A great cast of course, makes a superb movie. This is a gem and acted so well by Mike Douglas and cast. Powerful and shocking at the same time.

I think Michael Douglas should have done this movie in 1997 when he did 'The Game"... He still looked young and vibrant and had the same charisma of the original Wall Street. He looked tired and VERY OLD there, probably the cancer getting to him robbing him more than his frail body. Reminds me when I saw Robert Deniro and Al Pacino in that Righteous Krap movie.

Intelligent to say the least, but can get boring at times with all the finance jargons. The storyline is quite romantic, which is kind of unexpected. Subtle yet endearing at the same time. And it feels real, like it can really happen to real people. All in all a good movie for me.
| 7/10 | noxjacinto@ - 2 reviews 9.11.2010 - age: 26-35 |
I enjoyed this film. The story line was good and Michael Douglas and Shia LaBeof do a great job.
| 8/10 | soozierocks@ - first review 1.11.2010 - age: 26-35 |
I thought it was great personally... the storyline was little thin, but another tremendous performance by Douglas, worthy of at least a nomination. Carrie Mulligan, and Shia Lebouf surprised me. I absolutely loved the ending... It wasn't the masterpiece that part one was, but great for a sequel.

A lot of average reviews, so my expectations were less. But was pleasantly surprised. The movie is kind of a slow burner, sophisticated, intelligent with an understated style. Slick acting and good soundtrack.
| 8/10 | colinc73@ - 2 reviews 23.10.2010 - age: 36-49 |
Movie wasn't bad, I just didn't understand much all the details... The story was good.
| 6/10 | dimanta@ - 145 reviews 22.10.2010 - age: 26-35 |
Maybe my expectations were to high, but this movie was not near as intelligent and exciting as the original. It lacked the wonderful acting performances, the overall intensity and vibe of the times, and the great speeches. I was bored to tears watching this movie and it wasn’t because I didn’t understand it. Shia and Brolin did the best they could with the script they were given. I would definitely wait for this one to come out on dvd and save a few bucks.

... It is somewhat intellectually challenging to say the least.
| 7/10 | jjackzhang@ - 7 reviews 15.10.2010 - age: 13-17 |
In Oliver Stone's original Wall Street (1987), Gordon Gekko (Michael Douglas)famously said:"Greed is... good."Now, Gekko is out of jail and is in search of redemption and reconnection with his angry daughter (Carey Mulligan) What follows is a real sleeper of a movie (and not in a good sense)which tries to be relevent given the recent world-wide financial crisis, but winds up being a tad too preachy. At any rate, the current message is clear:Greed is NOT good.

I was surprised by how enjoyable the movie was. Don't listen to what the critics say. This is a good movie!
| 8/10 | strikemychord@ - 7 reviews 12.10.2010 - age: 36-49 |
Meh, Wall Street was ok, one of those so-so movies that you can wait to see on DVD. The acting was really good but the film seemed to be a bit slow, the story is good but I would have, in hindsight, preferred to watch this movie on the couch.
| 6/10 | keai_@ - 225 reviews 12.10.2010 - age: 26-35 |
I enjoyed this movie. Michael Douglas was in his element, cool, cold and sharp. Shia LaBaouf was kind of annoying he looked too much as if he was acting and not living his part. Great scenes of New York, and I also enjoyed the music. Will rent the DVD.

Don't need a lesson about economic downturn... been there done that. They had this great premise to build on and didn't leave the comfort zone... YAWN!!
| 4/10 | t.sampson@ - first review 9.10.2010 - age: 36-49 |
After seeing the original 1987 Wall Street I expected more nitty gritty than the film delivered. Too much emphasis was placed on the relationship/character developments between Gekko's daughter and her fiance then rebuilding the relationship between Gekko & his daughter. Josh Brolin did a great job, and as usual, Douglas is a fine actor, unfortunately there was not enough of him in the movie.
| 6/10 | chris_curtis_99@ - 6 reviews 9.10.2010 - age: 50+ |
This sequel came about 20 years to late. Douglas looked to old for the part and it doesn't have any of the magic of the first film.
| 2/10 | mechlin@ - 30 reviews 9.10.2010 - age: 36-49 |
Money may never sleep, but this lethargic movie certainly sent me to sleep. A potentially good story lost in a slow paced, poorly characterised film. There was no one in this film who engaged my interest. Take a pillow!
| 4/10 | jill@ - 2 reviews 8.10.2010 - age: 50+ |
Expecting more from Oliver Stone, certainly not his best movie. Acting was not convincing. Michael Douglas seemed not totally into it… but his screen presence is strong. Maybe Wall Street is so complicated that even a movie cannot tell the story.
| 6/10 | gerry@ - 103 reviews 8.10.2010 - age: 50+ |
Poor acting, relationships amongst the characters are not realistic or believable, no real insights or excitement around the thrill of Wall St, deal making, etc. The whole revenge part of the storyline was weak and not believable. It seems like Oliver Stone sleep-walked through this one.

Excellent movie... have to see this movie to understand where your money's gone if you invested in all the scrap stocks...
| 10/10 | lmckdhu@ - 2 reviews 8.10.2010 - age: 36-49 |
It was a lot of fun, if viewed strictly as a comedy. Michael Douglass is the perfect Gordon Gecko (it's not even clear he's acting), and the script gave him many zingers. As drama, the drivel about human emotions more or less just gets in the way, and as critique of Wall Street and our bubble economy, the film fails utterly: the main effect I imagine it would have on its viewers would be to increase the desire for a better haircut or suit.
| 7/10 | plyons@ - 2 reviews 7.10.2010 - age: 50+ |
The movie started good but have a soft-ending... The acting was Ok. Not really exciting movie.
| 6/10 | canary28185@ - 137 reviews 7.10.2010 - age: 18-25 |
Very disappointing. Could have even been average and I would have liked it, but it was very weak. An emotionless love story, and poor dramatization of the US bank bailouts. A movie focused on $ needs at least a little glimpse into the power, sex and rock and roll of it. Dull and uneventful, with a painful willingness to have everyone keep forgiving one another. Booo.

Very disappointed to watch this movie. Can't really compare to the Wall Street 1. Do not recommend it.

What can I say, Oliver Stone did a good job! The man who made platoon, the doors, wall street (1987) and more has that certain ability to get the audience really involved in the movie and the characters. This movie is worth the watch and then some! I would suggest that before catching this flick, watching the prequel... It'l make you see Gordon gekko in a whole new light!
| 8/10 | mavric6313@ - 18 reviews 5.10.2010 - age: 26-35 |
I was expecting a lot more from Wall Street 2... In this current economic situation there was great potential to give a juicy detail about the meltdown of the housing market and those toxic assets. That was the attraction of the first movie, Mr Stone open people eyes about hostile take over and inside information. Instead I feel they gave the simplest explanation maybe thinking that people aren't smart or clever enough to understand.
| 6/10 | sentenza99@ - 599 reviews 4.10.2010 - age: 26-35 |
I enjoyed this sequel; very interesting, captivating and great performances from the entire cast. Not 100% accurate and realistic, but then again, it is simply Wall Street fiction!
| 8/10 | fornarina_girly@ - 156 reviews 4.10.2010 - age: 18-25 |
Money is a good servant but a bad master. WALL STREET attempts to depict some of this principle. Despite his multiple experience in movie acting, Michael Douglas isn't entirely convincing as Gekko. Shia Labeouf seems to be a promising actor. This Oliver Stone's movie is not bad... but it could be much better.
| 6/10 | ravi_jay_gunnoo@ - 76 reviews 4.10.2010 - age: 36-49 |
I really enjoyed this movie... it had food for thought! The ending made me think that Oliver Stone ran out of money and got the idea for the ending from an 8 year old. Michael Douglas was great, Shia was very good, Josh Brolin was okay but Carey Mulligan was terrible... she personally took it down from an "8" to a "7" with her inability to emote coherently.
| 7/10 | peter@ - 7 reviews 3.10.2010 - age: 50+ |
I went into this one with an open mind hoping to watch an enjoyable film. I wasn't trying to tie it to the original Wallstreet of which it doesn't even come close. I simply wanted to be entertained and take in a good movie. Unfortunately, I wasn't overly impressed and felt very little for the characters. I was looking at my watch half way in waiting for something in the film to grab my attention or otherwise spark my interest... but it didn't happen. This movie is a rental at best and easily forgotten.
