This was a fantastic movie Doug Liman created. It's basically like The Transporter with Jason Statham!

I loved jumper. It's so exciting and gripping. Jamie Bell was brillant. The characters were portrayed clearly. An all round great film, I recommend it. [...]

At first I really liked it then 25 minutes into it I thought it was silly. Did not add up in many ways.

Some scenes made me jump out of my seat, but everything else had me flat on the seat bored. Hayden Christensen is one of the worst actors in the business, and the vision this film tries to portray is weak.
| 4/10 | christensonj_filmcritic@ - 96 reviews 17.5.2011 - age: 13-17 |
I think this movie is great and there will definitely be a sequel or maybe 2 sequels. This movie was great in plot, characters, action, and comedy are really good. Another good thing about this movie is Hayden Christensen he did such a good job in this film just like he did in the Star Wars prequel trilogy and strangely enough for some reason to me this film and the possible sequels feel kind of like a new age Star Wars I mean I know the movies have nothing in common except for the fact that they are both action movies and they both have Hayden Christensen and Samuel L. Jackson it's not really that plot that seems similar between Star Wars and this it's just that the feeling is that just the characters. What I mean is they just have the same feel to me I mean an alternate universe where space travel is common place with Jedi Knights and Sith Lords and a world with a war between teleprompters and hard core religious paladins they have the same feel overall fantastic movie recommended to everyone.

I liked this movie and so did my kids. If you like Sci-Fi, you'll find this one very entertaining.
| 7/10 | beachandtennis@ - 242 reviews 21.3.2009 - age: 50+ |
It's okay, it could have been so much better. It was kind of cheesy at times. But the jumping part of it was really cool. It had good action, and Samuel L. Jackson was all right. But it got really ridiculous and stupid at times.
| 5/10 | k-onne-r@ - 21 reviews 13.8.2008 - age: 13-17 |
Jumper is a movie with a decent plot, but at times it never makes any sence and its just imbarracing to hear them talk about "jumpers" and "paladins" this movie was okay and it could have been better, Hayden Christensen and Samuel L. Jackson did a good job but with all the writing from the script it made them look silly, I will not watch it again.

Holy crap guys. It was not even that action-packed, and it had plot-holes the height of the freaking CN Tower and the width of Japan. Why is she so nonchalant about seeing her thought-dead best friend after eight years? Her slim evidence of his survival is a snow globe! Why was that bully guy not, I dunno SHOCKED that this guy was back from the dead? Why was the mom never found until the end? We have idiotic, unnecessary end (that wasn't in the book, and is merely there to "hook" us into a terrible sequel.) to an idiotic, unnecessary film, a protagonist who is so [...] SELF-CENTERED you would not be able to wrench his head from the inner depths of his colon. Our protagonist is supposed to be sympathetic while stealing MILLIONS of dollars, undoubtedly bankrupting a few thousand people and ruining countless lives, because he does not kill people like Sammy J. Then, he leaves the villain, STRANDED, in the middle of freaking nowhere, trapped in a cave on a cliff, with no food or water, with no way to contact help or anything, and tells him he's LUCKY HE DID NOT FEED HIM TO SHARKS."OH THANKS DAVEY FOR LEAVING ME TO DIE SLOWLY WHILE TRYING TO PROLONG MY WRETCHED EXISTENCE BY MOST LIKELY EVENTUALLY RESORTING TO EATING AND DRINKING MY OWN WASTE, INSTEAD OF DYING QUICKLY AND SLIGHTLY LESS PAINFULLY? " Also, David acts like no human being would."So David, where did you get all this money? " A normal, reasonable person would say something like this: "I won the lottery!"or "my missing mom was rich and they declared her legally dead, and I was left a lot in her will!". Instead, we get "I'm a hugely rich banker even though I'm only 25 and apparently failed math." How can you empathize with that? How can you say," Hoho David, you're so clever!"? WHY, does she accept this argument for any amount of time? It would be like a guy telling his wife he's not fat, he's pregnant. It boggles the mind. The last nail in this already overnailed coffin is the acting. I didn't think Hayden could get any stiffer and more inhuman than in SW3, but I was proved wrong. This is not an action film. This is not the thriller of the summer. This is what the Russians placed over Peter's grave so he wouldn't arise. This is what those weird kids who dress in black and pretend to be "Vampires" worship. It. Is. Crap.

The story line was very bad and at the end "let's go somewhere hot" I thought that was a bad ending to Jumper it looked like the writer thought were a over the place. But I did love playing in jumper Hayden In the movie I did like the jumping place to place it just needed a better story line. Hayden I think it's that you live in Toronto and you are a canadian.

Well I think the story could have really been better if it had a script that made sense. It was all over the place like the main characters! Plot holes like swiss cheese!! They could have elaborated on his mom, before she left and maybe showing a peek-a-boo game or something where her son is three and first jumps and then she realises what he can do. Heh did the husband drink because his wife took off- why didn't he know who she was-What about the Scottish guy when he was little-they could have given more info on how these guys grew up -with their gifts. Also having a black guy as a religious fanatic is mocking to any Black Christians- who by the way when they are following the real message of God -do not exterminate people who are different-Religion breeds war- turn on the T"V. !! Short real history class:The crusades were NOT funded or created by REAL Christians. It was a pope who wanted to take the land in middle east to build another roman empire by force-so they went and killed everyone (all the muslims )who were in their path. This has nothing to do with God, but they misuse His name to destroy, just like the Paladins in this movie... Hope the book for story on jumpers was better...

It was no Matrix but it had it's moments. The story left lots to be desired and explained but maybe a sequel will clear some things up. Calling the bad guys Paladins does Have Gun Will Travel a disservice. Hayden Christensen is as wooden as ever but the special effects make up for his lack of acting ability.

| 9/10 | didi@ - 202 reviews 31.3.2008 - age: 13-17 |
It's pretty sexy but any large budget movie (large enough for S. L. Jackson)can pay good looking people. So is it entertaining? Yeah it's entertaining but don't let this encourage you to go see it. Jumper's simple plot and a shameless, without motivation, character (Samuel L Jackson)are unacceptable. With millions of dollars to burn one would hope to see some talent in any dimension of the film but unfortunately everything sub par. It is sometimes unintentionally funny and puzzling since the use of his power was inconsistent for example he could jump anywhere in the world but for theatrical effect he'd jump 3 feet away. Just weak and a teen fest.

I'm 14 and I saw this movie w/ my boyfriend. We met up in windsor (he lives in windsor) and he suggested we see it. I thought it was pretty cool how after he fell in the lake , he ended up in a library and it showed him ten years (or w/) later, it didnt really explain. Towards the middle of the movie it explained the beginning so it made you want to stay and watch to see how it all unraveled. Great mooviee.

I thought that this movie was actually pretty good. My friend's boyfriend wanted to go see it (a group of us always go) so everyone was like "Kay, whatever." So I was expecting it not to be very good but I was surprised to how much I enjoyed watching it. The plot was interesting and creative. Definitely nothing I've seen before. Acting was great, characters played their part very well. I really liked it. The only thing I think could have been better was the ending. Now I'm wondering if there's gonna be a sequel. ;p
| 8/10 | precious_pink_party_princ@ - 13 reviews 22.3.2008 - age: 13-17 |
Please please do not see this movie. Not only is the story line brutal, there are so many things that make no sence i.e. a kid dissappears for about 10 years after he fell in a frozen lake and when he returns nobody is excited he is back, no emotion and the bully who through the glass ball onto the lake did not even flinch when the so called star of the show returns. If you have no common sense and have a mind of a 6 year old then go see the movie as you will enjoy it, other then that JUMP away far and fast. Cheers.

I went to go see this movie and I thought it was pretty good... I found it really awful that the mother was a paradis and she was against her own son but I thought that the idea was pretty cool being able to jump wherever you wanted... Hayden Christensen, Rachel Bilson, and Samuel Jackson were all good actors in this movie...

I'm twelve. I think this movie was awesome and have gotta see it if you didn't because it is full of action adventure and a whole lot more. When I saw it I would've rather saw another movie but this one if far better than I thought. It just always keeps you boring into it. I needed to go to the washroom in the beginning and I held it to the very end because I couldn't miss ONE part; it was just so good.

Pretty good. A little exaggerated but, what movie isn't these days... it was expected. Family worthy, no. Not for young children anyway. Not the best acting either. Still was entertaining though.

I didn't expect much when I went to go see this, but I walked out wishing I could somehow rewind and get the last two hours of my life back. The concept of the movie was very cool, and could have been expanded into a good, engrossing story with some cool CGI thrown in. Instead, Hayden Christiansen acts like whenever he has to show any emotion, he looks like someone is trying to force something into his anal cavity, and whenever he talks he has this dazed off-centered "just pay and let me go home" tone to his voice. Ruined the movie. The screen play had huge jumps in it... (ignore the pun): it seemed it was written as a series of scenes and badly hashed together. No character development, bad ending. Go if you're drunk and want a good laugh.

What a boring first 30 minutes. Some cheesy high school sweetheart story that had me rolling my eyes. Then what a surprise to be out of the theatre in less than 90 minutes. Thus, 1/3 of the movie equals pure tedium and laughable. THEN somehow I am to dig deep and relate to this major bank robber, thief and petty break-in artist when he tells the authorities that he might be different and good? HELLO!! You rob banks for a living? Leaving an IOU doesn’t make it right. Again, the IOU’s are more cheese than anything.

I went into this movie with high expectations and I came out thinking," What happened?!" The ending just didn't seem like an ending. There seemed to be loose strings and it just didn't make sense to cut the movie off in that particular spot and leave a viewer like me satisfied.

Look, I don't know who in their right mind can give this movie more than 3 out of 10. Sorry but it's like someone chewed up a decent book and spit out a movie. It's a cool idea but it falls flat due to a poorly written screenplay, and one dimensional actors playing the leads. (Hayden Christensen, Rachel Bilson)

There was a ton of potential for this movie, but they blew it. I would definitely say it was worth renting, but they seemed so busy trying to set you up for the sequel that they forgot to fill in the blanks for the original movie. Jackson was too over-the-top to be believable and the ending was clearly not thought through. There were also some serious verisimilitude problems. Too much water and electricity for there not to have been a death or two along the way there...

It was a good concept for a movie but I felt they left out pieces of the story that you really should have known.
