Boring storyline, 2nd grade stunts and action scenes, no punch at the end. I don't know why I was interested in seeing this movie in the 1st place.

I liked as it had a bit of everything. It was what I had expected it to be.

It was intensely action packed from the beginning to the end at times having me at the edge of my seat. It was great to see Tyler Perry do justice to a role outside of what others boxed him in.

Good action thriller although Tyler Perry is miscast. He seems too nice, even when he goes over the edge.

Great movie! I was surprised that Perry pulled it off. Great book it's a must read!

Great action and storyline especially when it gets personal. Never heard of the books but overall I liked it.

Kind of new seeing Tyler Perry in a action movie compare to comedy but I may say me and the wife enjoyed it.

I thought this movie was very good. I have read many of James Patterson books and found this movie very entertaining. A must see for James Patterson fans.

For me to notice the acting was bad, it has to be really bad.

Wow, what a flop. Tyler Perry really. Why would they ever pick this guy to play Alex Cross! He killed the movie. His acting was sooo not believable and the action scenes sooo unreal due to his acting. All I can say is I loved the 2 previous movies but this one left you saying Perry should stick to sitcoms and other crappy comedy movies and take some acting lessons from Morgan Freeman.

I wish I could give this movie a negative rating. It was really that bad!

James Patterson must be crying. This movie is long, boring and painful. Avoid!

It was nice to see Tyler Perry play a different role than being a woman as he has done several times before. He is really good to watch in this role and I enjoyed it very much, as did my husband. I would recommend it.

Graphic disturbing violence. Didn't enjoy it.

Once again I proved to myself, when I ignore my instincts, bad things happen. Alex Cross is one of those things. This movie missed on so many levels: a shallow and poorly written story, weak acting (exception to Matt Fox), irritatingly obvious product placement, and unbelievable action scenes. I expect Tyler Perry’s loyal following will bring in the numbers for the star, but sadly it was a poor transition to the action genre. Remember this rule: the level of hype in the promo circuit for unproven entities is inversely proportional to the quality you can expect on the screen.

Great action and storyline. Tyler Perry played his part very well and Matt Fox exceptionally well as the bad guy. A crowded movie theatre and the comments were pretty much the same. "Not bad."

Very slow movie, TERRIBLE acting the only actor that did a decent job was Matthew Fox. I started to nod off at about the half way point but kept my self awake thinking the movie might get better, it didn't I should have just fell asleep.

Being a fan of the Alex Cross novels it would be easy to pick this movie apart, but I have not read this book yet for one thing. The author is right this is better than the Morgan Freeman movies (no offense to Morgan Freeman), to me they felt like mysteries instead of thrillers. One thing that bothers me is not having John Sampson, Tommy and Monica were ok, Matthew Fox is the main reason to watch this as Picasso. We will see what happens if they make a sequel, it should be better since especially if it actually takes place in Washington D. C.

Feels intentionally bad at times. I actually liked this film for how bad it was, and in all honesty it had me entertained in a way that a great B-movie could do. But in reality this is not something you want to pay to see. Ever. Watch it for free when you can to have a good laugh. Also, I think this could be a great idea for a series if it was taken seriously.

The movie was not dull. I have to give it that much. I was surprised that it did not tell us a thing about the bad guy. Although Mathew Fox did a superb job with his role, it would have been much more interesting if we knew how he was trained; where he came from. His character, being a psycho killer, deserves a little more story to add credibility. This left a big hole in the show for me. A guy off the street walks into an MMA fight and kicks butt. Okay, he's tough, so is every other bad guy. This one could have been outstanding, but, WHO WAS HE?

This was a very in-between movie. There were excellent moments of intensity interspersed with really lame parts with mostly abysmal dialogue. Scenes, staging and plot were TEXTBOOK action thriller. Nothing original here, few twists. I thought the acting was fine by Perry and Fox. The rest were on the weak side, but what can you do with such terrible writing? All in all, I took it in stride and enjoyed the ride. So what if it wasn't an all-out blockbuster? Music was truly SUPERB.

As a huge fan of the Alex Cross series books, I was looking forward to this movie. There were so many things wrong with this movie, I am not sure where to begin? Is it the fact that the screenplay fails to represent anything remotely like what happens in the books? Have the screen writers even read any Patterson books? The acting was AWEFUL. The dialog laughable, but not funny. If you are a fan of the Alex Cross series, STAY AWAY from this movie. It's going to ruin it for you.

The movie was just OK for me. It wasn't great, but it also wasn't terrible. Good story line... not great acting. Worth seeing... just not sure if it's theater worthy.

Poor acting (with the exception of Mathew Fox), but an even worse script. I can appreciate the amount of work that goes into making a movie, but this is one of those few where I have to wonder how it ever got funded.

Good acting by all main characters. Good story line that keeps you guessing most of the time. They could have spent a little more time on the ending, how did they get the maid to roll over and plant the drugs, for example. [...]

Good direction. Good suspense. A little bit gruesome in some scenes. For once my wife understood the whole movie without having to ask me questions!

The acting is so so. The story is very simple. You know what is coming. A consumer product... a bit of action... but as I already said, nothing worth your time.

Tyler Perry played his role amazingly! However I think the movie could have been better, as with most movies based on books.

Good movie, action and entertaining; violent and predictable. Acting not bad. I think for me the best actor is Matthew Fox, he really portrayed well the serial killer. I'm sure he worked out a lot and trained hard for the role.

What a stale performance by Tyler Perry, he should stick to what he knows and he clearly is not an action star. The film itself does not play to strength of the Cross franchise. Disappointing movie.

I'm so happy that Tyler pulled it off. I know some thought he wouldn't be able to do the job because they are so use to him playing Madea but he did great. Matthew Fox was amazing. He played the character well.
